A Little Levity for a Heavy World

Finding joy, connection, and curiosity this August

August can feel like a pressure cooker. The heat is relentless, the back-to-school season ramps up stress, and the news cycle continues to churn out headlines that feel more unsettling than inspiring.

So I’m trying something different this month—and I hope you’ll join me.

For every day in August, I’ll be taking a few minutes to honor whatever quirky, heartfelt, or thought-provoking “National Day” is on the calendar. These national days range from the silly (hello, National Underwear Day) to the soulful (National Grief Awareness Day), the practical (Online Grocery Shopping Day), and the culturally rich (Ganesh Chaturthi, a celebration of spiritual reflection and community in India).

I’ll be picking ones that feel fun, meaningful, ADHD-friendly—or just intriguing—and sharing a short post each day on my social media. Think of it as a tiny moment of joy, curiosity, or reflection in the middle of whatever else August is throwing your way.

💬 I’d love to hear from you throughout the month. Tell me if a certain National Day resonates with you, sparks a memory, or gives you a new way to look at things. Or just pop in to laugh with me at the truly random ones. (There are some doozies.)

Let’s create a little pocket of levity and connection during one of the most intense months of the year. Come follow along, share your thoughts, and celebrate the everyday with me.
